Ibland slås man av vissa märkliga saker i ens liv. Som t ex att jag, som helt övertygad ateist och då menar jag verkligen helt övertygad :-), lyssnar på musik med texter som, om dom inte är "öppet religiösa", framförs av artister som är djupt troende. (Gillian Welch, Carter family etc.)

Likaså lyssnar jag gärna på sånger med texter som behandlar förhållandet mellan USA och Mexico och som t ex beskriver mexikanska gränsflyktingars tillvaro. (Tom Russell: California snow / Bruce Springsteen: Sinaloa Cowboys är bara två i mängden av sådana sånger.)

Det finns andra exempel på liknande. Några enkla svar har jag inte heller ...

Inget citat idag. Istället vill jag puscha för den utomordentligt välgjorda TV-serien Upp till kamp. [IMHO är en hel del av det svenska som produceras idag undermåligt, dialogen är ofta så urusel att jag vrider mig och värjer mig mot alla pinsamheter. ] I den här serien är det precis tvärtom.

En sådan här serie, som ser tillbaka på en oerhört betydelse full tidsera, skulle så lätt kunnat misslyckas. Inga enkla "tricks" inga pekpinnar, utan det känns som man ärligt och uppriktigt, med ömhet, kärlek och en stor portion humor, lyckas berätta en trovärdig historia. Dessutom med bra skådespelarinsater OCH en vettig dialog.

Slutet på det tredje avsnittet med de fyra vännerna på sjukhuset och med Palmes TV-tal i bakgrunden på TV:n var briljant.

Nyss hemkommen från Uppsala. Riktigt rolig och bra spelning med Elliott Murphy på Katalin. Det blir en extra dimension med en bra gitarrist, Olivier Durand, tillsammans med Elliott. Formeln "singer-songwriter" med ensam gitarr kan vara lite endimensionell ibland. Grattis till de som har möjlighet att se honom i Filipstad idag (onsdag)

Re: dagens låt: Har ju en fäbless för kvinnliga artister inom country-folk-pop-facket. Trisha Yearwood är en av de många (Mary Chapin Carpenter, Patty Griffin, Tift Merritt, Shawn Colvin, Gretchen Peters, Kasey Chambers är några andra). Trisha är väl ingen "kalaspingla", lite för kraftig typ, "but she sure knows how to sing"
